Boxing Legends of the Ring is one of those SNES sports games that actually feels like it has some weight to it—not just another arcadey punch-fest. You step into the ring as real middleweight legends (Sugar Ray Leonard’s footwork is ridiculous, by the way), and the controls are simple but just deep enough to make you think about timing. The Las Vegas Hilton backdrop gives it that old-school fight night vibe.
First thing you’ll notice? The fighters move slower than you’d expect, almost methodical. It’s not about button mashing—landing a clean hook after dodging feels satisfying, but mistime it and you’re eating a counter. The roster’s small but packed with icons, though good luck picking between Duran’s aggression and Graziano’s raw power. Just don’t get too cocky; the AI learns your patterns fast.
It’s definitely a product of its time, but if you’re into boxing games that reward patience over flash, this one’s a solid round in the SNES library.
