BlaZeon came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, published by Atlus. It was part of that wave of early SNES shooters trying to carve out a space alongside the more established names. If you were into Japanese mecha anime at the time, especially Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, you would have noticed some clear visual and thematic nods in the opening stages.

You pilot a transforming mech through horizontally scrolling stages, fighting off waves of enemy craft and larger bosses. Your main goal is simply to survive to the end of each level, but your primary tool is a capture beam. You can latch onto most smaller enemies, pulling them in to become temporary options, or satellite weapons, that orbit your ship and add their firepower to your own. Managing this small swarm of captured units is the core of the game; you decide when to deploy them for concentrated fire or absorb them to replenish your own health. The pacing is relentless, and the screen gets crowded with bullets and enemies quickly, making it a challenging run. It feels like a constant juggling act between aggressive capture and defensive positioning just to make it through another minute.
