About Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S - Jougai Rantou! Shuyaku S
I picked up Sailor Moon S for the Super Nintendo back in 1994, a game developed by Angel. It was one of many anime tie-ins on the system, a side-scrolling brawler that let you step into the school shoes of the Sailor Scouts. The 16-bit sprites were colorful and captured the look of the show well, fitting right into the era of crowded video store shelves.
You control one of the Sailor Guardians, moving from left to right through city streets and other locations. The main goal is to fight through waves of enemies to reach the stage boss. Your primary actions are a standard attack combo and a special screen-clearing attack that consumes a portion of your magic meter. You can also pick up items to restore health or magic. The pacing is brisk, and the game can be quite difficult, with enemies swarming from all sides. It feels like a straightforward, energetic scramble from one end of the screen to the other.
