Okay, so Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon - Another Story is basically the Sailor Moon RPG we all wanted back in the SNES days. You start off with Usagi and the gang, but here’s the twist—it’s an original story, not just a retelling of the anime. The writing actually feels like the show, complete with dramatic villain monologues and those ridiculous-but-endearing attack names (looking at you, Moon Tiara Action).
Combat’s turn-based, but with a fun twist where you can team up for combo attacks—pairing Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask for a joint move never gets old. The pixel art’s gorgeous, especially the transformation sequences. And yeah, it’s grindy in that classic ‘90s RPG way, but wandering around 90s Tokyo hunting for random encounters with youma weirdly works.
Fair warning: the translation’s a bit rough if you’re playing the fan patch, but honestly, that just adds to the charm. If you ever wanted to yell “Moon Healing Escalation!” at your TV unironically, this is your game.
