Okay, so Beauty and the Beast on SNES is one of those Disney games that actually nails the movie’s vibe—which, let’s be honest, wasn’t always the case back then. You play as Belle (obviously), running through these lush, slightly pixelated versions of the castle and village, dodging Gaston’s goons and solving little puzzles. The Beast shows up for some levels too, and his sections feel heavier, like he’s just plowing through obstacles.
The music’s straight from the movie, so you’ll catch yourself humming "Be Our Guest" while jumping over teacups or whatever. It’s not super hard, but there’s this one library level with falling books that still trips me up. Also, the rose timer? Classic Disney game stress.
If you’ve got nostalgia for the movie or just love that era of SNES platformers, it’s a solid play—just don’t expect a speedrun challenge. The sprite work on Belle’s dress alone is weirdly impressive for 16-bit.
