Battletoads and Double Dragon on SNES is this weird, awesome mashup where you pick either the Double Dragon brothers (Billy and Jimmy) or one of the Battletoads (Zitz, Pimple, or Rash—Rash is my go-to, honestly). The first thing you’ll notice is how ridiculous the sprites look—big, exaggerated punches and kicks that feel satisfyingly chunky.
You’re basically walking right, smashing through waves of enemies, and yeah, it’s a classic beat ‘em up. But the toads have these over-the-top moves where they’ll turn their fists into hammers or grow giant feet to stomp guys. The Double Dragon duo plays more traditionally, but honestly, the toads are where the fun’s at. Boss fights are brutal in that old-school way—you’ll die a few times figuring out their patterns.
It’s not the deepest game, but if you’re into ‘90s arcade-style brawlers with a silly edge, this one’s a blast with a friend. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you.
