Batman Returns on SNES is one of those classic beat 'em ups where you just plow through waves of creepy clown thugs in Gotham’s snowy streets. The vibe nails the movie—dark, kinda grimy, with that Danny Elfman-esque soundtrack humming in the background. At first, I kept getting swarmed because the controls feel a little stiff, but once you get the timing down for Batman’s punches and that satisfying cape swipe, it clicks.
You’ll fight your way to showdowns with Catwoman (who’s way faster than she looks) and The Penguin’s ridiculous duck-themed goons. The stages are short but packed with hazards—watch out for those guys who chuck dynamite from off-screen. It’s not the deepest brawler, but there’s something fun about clearing a whole screen of enemies with a well-timed batarang.
Definitely a nostalgia trip if you grew up with the movie or SNES era.
