Batman Returns on SNES is one of those beat 'em ups that feels like it was made for late-night pizza-fueled sessions. You're dropped right into Gotham's grimy streets, punching your way through creepy clowns and knife-throwing goons—all while the soundtrack nails that dark, Burton-esque vibe. The controls are simple, but some of the enemy swarms get brutal fast, especially when Catwoman starts darting around like she owns the place.
It’s not the deepest brawler out there, but there’s something satisfying about clearing a screen of thugs with a well-timed batarang. And yeah, the graphics? Surprisingly moody for a 16-bit game—Penguin’s sewer lair actually looks gross in the best way. Just don’t expect the plot to make much sense if you haven’t seen the movie.
