Batman Returns on SNES is one of those beat 'em ups that feels like it was made for late-night gaming sessions. You're dropped right into Gotham's grimy streets, punching your way through creepy clowns and acrobatic thugs—it's got that classic arcade brawler vibe, but with Batman's signature dark style.
The controls are simple—punch, kick, throw—but the real fun comes from the little details. Batman's cape actually billows when you jump, and some stages let you hop into the Batmobile for a side-scrolling driving section (which, honestly, feels a bit janky but in a charming way). The Penguin's sewer hideout is a standout, all dripping pipes and flickering neon.
It's not the deepest fighter out there, but if you're into the movie or just want some old-school Batman action, this one holds up better than you'd expect.
