About Bahamut Lagoon (japan)
Bahamut Lagoon came out in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Square. It was one of the later releases for the SNES, appearing as the platform was transitioning to the next generation of consoles.
You control a group of heroes and their dragon companions on a world map, moving from location to location to advance the story. Your main goal is to liberate your homeland from an invading empire. The core gameplay is tactical, with grid-based battles where you position your units and issue commands. A signature mechanic is raising and customizing your dragons; you feed them items to change their stats and elemental abilities, and they fight alongside your party in battle. The game's pacing is deliberate, with exploration and story sequences between combat. Playing it feels like managing a small, personal army where every dragon's growth is a direct result of your choices.
