BS Super Famicom Wars is one of those weird, obscure SNES gems—originally released as a Japan-only broadcast game (yep, you had to download it via satellite back in the day). It’s basically a stripped-down version of Super Famicom Wars, but don’t let that fool you—it’s still got that addictive turn-based strategy gameplay where you’re moving tanks, infantry, and planes across tiny pixel battlefields.
First few turns feel familiar if you’ve played any of the Wars games: capture cities for cash, build units, and try not to get your recon units obliterated by artillery. The maps are smaller here, and there’s no campaign, but it’s perfect for quick battles. Graphics are super clean, with those bright, chunky sprites the series is known for.
Honestly, it’s a shame this never got an official western release. If you’re into retro strategy games, this one’s a neat little time capsule from the SNES era.
