BS Nichibutsu Mahjong is one of those obscure SNES mahjong sims that flew under the radar—probably because it was part of Japan’s satellite-based "Broadcast Satellaview" games. The tiles have that classic 90s pixel art look, and the AI isn’t half bad once you get past the Japanese menus.

First thing you’ll notice? The tutorial mode (Renshuu Mahjong) is actually helpful if you’re rusty on rules. No fancy gimmicks here—just straight-up riichi mahjong with a clean interface. The Nimantou mode throws in some light strategy, but honestly, I kept going back to free play just to hear those satisfying tile-click sounds.

Not the flashiest mahjong game out there, but it’s solid for late-night sessions if you dig retro vibes.
