Players control a set of fantasy themed units, divided into Light and Dark factions, on a grid based game board with the objective of capturing key spaces or eliminating all opposing pieces. Progression is structured through turn based strategic movement on the board, which transitions into direct, real time action sequences when two units attempt to occupy the same square. During these battles, players directly control their unit in an arena, utilizing its primary attack and a unique secondary weapon ability. The combat is presented from an isometric viewpoint, giving a sense of spatial depth to the encounters.

The game incorporates several core systems, including unit management with distinct attributes and special abilities, and strategic control of the dynamic game board, where the alignment of spaces can shift between light and dark, affecting unit power. The technical overhaul for this version includes a rewritten game engine, updated visual and audio assets, and a digital music system. These changes are accompanied by a redesigned game board layout and the addition of the special secondary weapon for each unit type.
