About Animaniacs (japan)
I remember picking up Animaniacs for the Super Nintendo back in 1994. It was a Konami release, a side-scrolling platformer that fit right in with the colorful, cartoonish games of that era on the SNES. You don't see many licensed games from that time hold up, but this one had its own particular charm.
You control Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, switching between them on the fly to use their unique abilities. Yakko swings a giant mallet, Wakko uses a slingshot for ranged attacks, and Dot can charm enemies with a kiss to temporarily stun them. The main goal is to rescue the Warner movie lot's actors from a villain, moving screen by screen through movie-themed stages. You collect film reels and avoid hazards, and the game can get surprisingly tricky with its enemy placement and platforming challenges. It feels like a solid, straightforward platformer that relies on its character-swapping mechanic to keep things interesting.
