About Alfred Chicken (europe)
Alfred Chicken came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, published by Mindscape and developed by Twilight. It was part of that wave of quirky, character-driven platformers that tried to stand out on the system, a time when developers were experimenting with all sorts of animal protagonists.
You control Alfred, a chicken on a mission to rescue his friends from a mechanical menace. The game is a side-scrolling platformer where you move screen by screen, pecking at enemies and obstacles to clear your path. A key mechanic is the ground pound, which you use to stun foes and activate switches embedded in the terrain.
