Akazukin Cha Cha on SNES is one of those weird, adorable platformers that feels like it fell out of a storybook. You play as Cha Cha, a little witch who bounces around with her wand, turning enemies into random objects—sometimes helpful, sometimes just silly. The first time I played, I accidentally turned a bat into a giant carrot and just stared at it for a solid five seconds.
The levels are bright and packed with little details, like talking trees and goofy-looking monsters that seem more confused than threatening. It’s not super hard, but some of the puzzles make you stop and think, especially when you’re trying to figure out which spell actually helps instead of, say, summoning a floating teacup for no reason.
If you’re into retro games with personality, this one’s got charm to spare. Just don’t expect anything too serious—it’s basically a Saturday morning cartoon in 16-bit form.
