Air Cavalry is one of those SNES games that makes you feel like you're barely in control—in a good way. You're piloting a chopper through tight canyons, dodging enemy fire, and unloading rockets on anything that moves. The controls take a second to get used to—your helicopter drifts like it's got a mind of its own—but once it clicks, weaving through gunfire feels surprisingly satisfying.
The levels throw tanks, jets, and turrets at you, and the explosions are chunky in that classic 16-bit way. There's something weirdly fun about how chaotic it gets when you're low on health, spinning wildly to avoid missiles while trying to line up a shot. It's not the deepest shooter out there, but it nails that arcade-style "just one more try" energy.
If you're into old-school action games that don't overcomplicate things, this one's a solid time.
