Aero the Acro-Bat 2 is basically more of what made the first game fun—if you liked flinging that little bat around circus levels with his spin jumps, you’ll feel right at home here. The controls are still snappy, and the levels throw in some new gimmicks like swinging from bells (which feels way more satisfying than it should) and bouncing off trampolines that send you flying.
It’s got that same chaotic energy where you’re ricocheting off cannons one second and dodging enemies the next. The candy collecting is back too, though honestly, half the time I was just trying not to faceplant into spikes. The graphics are a slight step up from the first game, with brighter colors and a few extra details in the backgrounds.
If you played the original, this is more of that—just with a few extra tricks. If you didn’t, it’s still a solid SNES platformer with enough weird charm to stand out.
