So, The Addams Family on SNES—yeah, it’s one of those licensed platformers from the '90s, but honestly? It’s got charm. You play as Gomez, bouncing around the mansion and its weirdly dangerous grounds (because of course even the hedges are out to get you). The whole thing feels like someone took the movie’s gothic quirk and turned it into a level where you’re dodging chandeliers and hopping on top of moving suits of armor.
The controls are a little floaty at first—Gomez slides a bit when he stops running, which takes some getting used to. But once you figure out the timing, it’s weirdly satisfying to chain jumps off enemies or swing from those creepy vines. Also, the music? Surprisingly moody for a SNES game, all organ chords and spooky carnival vibes.
It’s not the hardest platformer out there, but there’s something fun about the way it leans into the Addams’ weirdness. You’ll rescue family members like Fester (who’s just vibing in a dungeon, naturally) while Tully, the slimy lawyer, lurks in the background. Definitely a nostalgia trip if you grew up with the movie.
