About Actraiser 2
ActRaiser 2 came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Quintet. It was a follow up to the original, which had mixed action with town building simulation. This sequel dropped the simulation entirely, focusing only on the side scrolling action. It arrived during a time when the SNES library was expanding with many ambitious platformers and action games.
You control the Master, a deity who flies and fights through levels filled with monsters. Your main goal is to cleanse the world of evil by defeating bosses in each stage. The game is built on screen by screen exploration; you move through discrete areas, clearing enemies before proceeding. Combat relies on your sword and a limited magic system, demanding precise jumps and attacks to survive. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is notably high, with unforgiving platforming and aggressive enemies. Playing it feels like a constant test of your timing and patience.
