Remember that weird but kinda awesome Nickelodeon cartoon with the monsters living under a city? This is the SNES game based on it, and honestly, it’s way more fun than most licensed games from that era. You play as Ickis, Oblina, or Krumm—each has their own weird little moves—and you’re basically causing chaos through these gross, detailed levels full of humans to scare.
The controls take a second to get used to (Krumm’s detached hands still feel weird to me), but once you figure out how to pounce, climb, and throw stuff, it’s a blast. Some levels have you sneaking around, others are straight-up brawls—and the art style nails that creepy-cute vibe from the show. Just watch out for the teachers in the school level. They’re weirdly terrifying.
It’s short, but the variety and humor make it worth replaying. Definitely one of the better cartoon-to-game adaptations from the 90s.
