But here’s the twist: the other "heroes" you meet? They’re not exactly team players. Some will straight-up fight you for the runes, others might backstab you later. It’s less "band of brothers" and more "everyone’s out for themselves."

This hack tweaks the original’s brutal difficulty (seriously, the vanilla version was punishing) while keeping that weird, tense vibe where you’re never sure if that elf or knight you just met will help you or try to murder you. The sprite work’s still gorgeous, though—those SNES colors pop. Just don’t expect a cozy adventure.

Fair warning: even with the rebalance, this isn’t a walk in the park. But if you like RPGs with a side of paranoia, it’s got a weird charm.
