The player controls Sou, a young mercenary from the Blade Warrior organization, who is tasked with confronting a gang of cyborgs in a city district. The primary objective is to advance from one end of each stage to the other, defeating all hostile entities that appear. Progression is structured so that Sou can only move forward to the next area segment after eliminating every enemy in the current one. Main gameplay involves close quarters combat using a sword, supplemented by abilities to jump and duck to avoid attacks. Players can also find and use ranged weapons, which appear as limited quantity pick ups within the stages. The adversaries encountered throughout the game consist largely of cyborgs, robots, and other mechanical foes.

The narrative context establishes that by the year 2002, societal collapse is imminent due to disease and crime. Advanced genetic engineering has led to the creation of cybernetic organisms. Many of these cyborgs have joined criminal organizations, leading authorities to hire the Blade Warrior mercenaries. Sou's mission to deal with the marauding cyborgs is presented as the initial part of a larger conflict. The game's structure follows this premise through a series of action oriented levels where combat and movement are the central mechanics.
