Wing Commander: Armada is a space simulation and strategy game released for MS-DOS in 1994. Developed and published by ORIGIN Systems, Inc., it is set within the established Wing Commander universe. Players assume command of either the Terran Confederation or the Kilrathi Empire, with the objective of conquering a sector of space. The game offers two primary modes of play. The Armada mode is a turn-based strategic campaign where players manage fleets, resources, and territory on a galactic map before engaging in tactical, real-time space combat. The Quick Play mode allows for immediate skirmishes or custom missions, similar to mission creation tools found in other contemporary flight simulators. Progression in the campaign involves securing jump points, building and upgrading capital ships and fighter squadrons, and engaging enemy forces.

Notable gameplay systems include the strategic layer of fleet command and resource management, followed by direct piloting of spacecraft in three-dimensional combat encounters. Wing Commander: Armada also featured multiplayer support, which was a notable inclusion for its time.
