West Phaser is a first-person arcade shooter released in 1989 for MS-DOS. Developed and published by Loriciel SA, the game is set in the American Old West and supports up to six players. Players assume the roles of various historical figures from the period, including lawmen like Doc Holliday and outlaws such as Jesse James.

Players control their chosen character from a first-person perspective, moving through a series of western-themed locations like saloons and dusty streets. The primary objective is to eliminate waves of cartoon-style enemies, including bandits, cowboys, and other attackers, to progress. A central gameplay system involves a life bar represented by a burning candle, which diminishes when players are hit, requiring quick reflexes to shoot incoming threats. Another key system is the bounty hunting mechanic, where a specific target's face appears on the status bar; defeating this target concludes the stage and grants a reward. The game structure consists of successive stages, each culminating in a showdown against a notable outlaw.

The game was originally designed for use with a light gun peripheral. It was re-released less than three years after its initial launch under the title Steve McQueen: Westphaser, which added support for alternative input devices despite having no narrative connection to the actor's roles. This version maintained the same core gameplay of fast-paced shooting and target elimination across its western environments.
