Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds is a fantasy role-playing game released for MS-DOS in 1993. Developed by Looking Glass Technologies and published by ORIGIN Systems, it is a first-person perspective sequel set one year after the events of Ultima VII. The narrative begins as the Avatar and companions are celebrating at Lord British's castle, only for the Guardian to attack and trap the structure within a massive blackrock gem. To break this spell, the Avatar must venture through a linked blackrock gem found in the castle sewers, which serves as a portal to various worlds under the Guardian's control.

Players control the Avatar, whose gender, character class, and initial skills are customizable at the start. Progression involves exploring a three-dimensional world, engaging in action-oriented combat, and interacting with characters through dialogue trees. Key gameplay systems include managing a repertoire of spells through a magic system and improving character skills, such as weapon proficiencies or social abilities like bartering, by finding trainers and earning experience. As experience accumulates, the character levels up, increasing health and mana reserves. The environment is highly interactive, allowing players to pick up, examine, and physically manipulate numerous objects found throughout the world.

The game world is notably expansive and varied, featuring locations beyond traditional castles and dungeons. These include an ice world, an alien realm named Talorus, and the mysterious Ethereal Void. Technical improvements over the original title include a larger on-screen viewing window, updated monster graphics, and the implementation of digitized sound effects. The storyline is more directly connected to the main Ultima series, with the player's objective focused on navigating these diverse worlds to gather the means to free the castle from its crystalline prison.
