About Uefa Champions League
UEFA Champions League is a soccer simulation game released in 1995 for the MS-DOS platform. It was developed by Philips Interactive Media, Inc. and published by Krisalis Software Ltd. The game focuses on the 1995-1996 season of the European club competition, presenting matches from a bird's-eye view perspective.
Players control one of the sixteen clubs that participated in that season's UEFA Champions League. The primary objective is to compete in and win the tournament, progressing through its structure. The game allows for playing the official competition, and it also includes options to create custom tournaments or single matches using the available clubs. Before matches, players can adjust team tactics, including changing player positions and reconfiguring control keys. The roster is fixed to the sixteen included clubs, with no option for transferring players between teams or adding other clubs.
During a match, the gameplay involves controlling players to pass, shoot, and defend in an attempt to score goals and win. The on-field action features graphical presentation and match-starting sequences, such as a coin toss to choose sides, that were noted as improvements for the time. The game's systems are centered around tournament progression, tactical setup, and direct match play, offering a focused simulation of that specific Champions League season.
