Trog is a prehistoric themed arcade game originally released in 1990, later ported to home systems including MS-DOS. Developed by Bally Midway and published by Acclaim Entertainment, the game presents a top-down perspective where players control dinosaur characters in a competitive environment.

Players take control of one of four dinosaur characters, named Spike, Bloop, Rex, and Gwen. The primary objective is to collect all the eggs matching the player's assigned color before opponents can gather theirs. The play area is populated by hostile Trogs, one-eyed cavemen who pursue the dinosaurs. To evade capture, players must navigate the maze-like levels while avoiding these enemies. The game supports multiplayer for up to four participants in the arcade version, creating a direct race against other players.

Gameplay involves strategic movement and the use of power-up items scattered throughout the stages. Collecting a pineapple transforms the dinosaur into a Tyrannosaurus rex, temporarily enabling it to defeat pursuing Trogs. Similarly, obtaining a hot tamale item grants the ability to breathe fire as a defensive measure. The structure progresses through multiple rounds, each requiring the collection of a full set of colored eggs while managing the constant threat from the enemy cavemen and their primitive weapons.
