The Immortal is a fantasy action game released in 1991 for the MS-DOS platform. It was developed by Sandcastle and published by Electronic Arts, Inc. The game is presented from a bird's-eye view perspective and follows a character searching for a missing mentor within a dangerous dungeon.

Players control a lone adventurer navigating through eight sequential dungeon levels. The primary objective is to locate the missing mentor while surviving traps and hostile encounters. Progression involves solving environmental puzzles, which require learning trap patterns and using collected inventory items in specific ways. The game occasionally presents unique challenges, such as navigating a magic carpet through a corridor of fire or riding a barrel down an underground river. Throughout the dungeon, players can interact with non-player characters; some offer information or trade items, while others are hostile and will initiate combat.

Combat occurs on a separate screen and unfolds in a turn-based manner. Enemies signal their intended attack direction a few moments before striking, allowing the player time to choose a defensive dodge or a counterattack from the left or right. The game does not feature a save function, but individual levels can be restarted repeatedly. A password system is provided, allowing players to skip to previously reached levels.
