About Tennis Elbow
Tennis Elbow is a sports simulation game released in 1997 for the MS-DOS platform. Developed by Mana Games and published by GOTO Software, it is a tennis game that presents matches from a third person perspective. The game features a World Tour mode consisting of 90 events where players compete against a roster of 250 different opponents.
Players control a tennis professional through various match types, including standard singles and doubles, as well as asymmetric two against one matches. Progression is tied to the World Tour, and a player's abilities, such as serve speed and accuracy or running speed, improve with continued play. Each competitor can be defined as a specific type, such as a volleyer or defender, with customizable kit colors and adjustable skill attributes. The game includes different court surfaces like grass, clay, and cement, which affect gameplay.
Gameplay involves using two buttons in combination with directional inputs to execute a range of shots, including slices, three distinct types of lob, and drop shots. The match view can be switched from one side of the court to the other at the player's discretion. After points are played, the action can be reviewed using a replay system that allows for slow motion, fast forward, and rewind functions. The game also supports online play, enabling matches against other human opponents.
