Super Worms is a 3D racing game released in 2003 for the MS-DOS platform. Developed and published by Wiering Software, the game features a third-person perspective and draws inspiration from kart racing titles. In the racing mode, players control a segmented worm vehicle, competing against other racers on various tracks. The primary objective is to complete laps faster than the opponents to win. The tracks are populated with white balloons that contain power-up items. Collecting these items allows players to gain advantages or hinder other racers, adding a strategic layer to the high-speed competition. The battle mode provides a direct arena contest for two players. Here, the goal shifts from racing to attacking the opponent using the assortment of items available in the environment. Successful hits remove segments from the opposing worm's body. A player wins this mode by depleting all of their opponent's segments. This structure creates a focused combat experience that complements the racing gameplay, with both modes utilizing the same core mechanics of movement, item collection, and segment-based damage.
