Super Mario 4 – Space Odyssey Game

Okay, so Super Mario 4 – Space Odyssey is this weird, unofficial Mario game for the Sega Genesis—yeah, not Nintendo, which already makes it kinda wild. You’ve got Mario (or Luigi) jumping through space-themed levels with gravity shifts and these floaty platforming sections that feel janky at first but weirdly satisfying once you get the hang of it.
The sprites are chunky Genesis-era stuff, and the music’s got that classic FM synth sound, but some of the level designs are actually pretty clever. There’s one stage where you’re hopping between tiny asteroids, and if you miss, you just… float off into the void. No second chances. Feels brutal compared to the usual Mario games.
It’s definitely not polished, but there’s charm in how ambitious it is for a bootleg. If you’re into obscure retro oddities, this one’s a trip.
