Super Hang-On is a motorcycle racing game originally released in 1988 for the MS-DOS platform. Developed by SEGA-AM2 Co., LTD. and published by Data East USA, Inc., it presents a behind-view perspective of the player's bike on a two-dimensional track. The game is structured around four continental race circuits, each representing a different difficulty tier: Africa for beginners, Asia for junior riders, the Americas for senior racers, and Europe for expert players.

Players control a motorcycle that is perpetually in motion, with steering handled by left and right inputs and speed managed by shifting gears up or down. The bike's velocity is directly tied to the selected gear, though collisions with other riders or veering off the roadway will reduce speed. Other motorcycles on the track function primarily as moving obstacles rather than direct competitors to defeat. The MS-DOS version includes an "Original mode" where players enter racing tournaments. This mode incorporates management elements, allowing players to hire mechanics and upgrade their motorcycle between events. Progress can be saved and resumed using a password system.
