Okay, so Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force is basically a GBA love letter to the original movies—you hop between Luke, Leia, and Han across all three films, which sounds cooler than it actually is. The levels are these bite-sized action-platformer chunks where you’re blasting stormtroopers, awkwardly swinging a lightsaber (hit detection’s a bit janky), or doing the Death Star trench run in a weirdly zoomed-in perspective.
It’s got that early 2000s licensed game vibe—some levels nail the movie moments (escaping Mos Eisley feels frantic in a good way), while others make you wonder why they turned the Wampa cave into a generic ice level. The sprite work’s decent though, and hearing those muffled GBA renditions of the classic themes still hits. Just don’t expect deep combat—you’ll button-mash your way through most fights.
Fun for a nostalgia trip, but you’ll probably blast through it in an afternoon. Best enjoyed with low expectations and a pile of AA batteries.
