Okay, so Star Wars: The New Droid Army on GBA is basically what happens when you cram Jedi action into a tiny cartridge. You start off as this fresh-faced apprentice—lightsaber in hand, robes probably getting in the way—and immediately get thrown into fighting waves of clanky battle droids. Classic Star Wars stuff, but in that sweet 2D side-scrolling style.
At first, you’re just slashing through basic enemies, but then the game starts mixing in force powers and some light puzzle-solving. Like, one minute you’re deflecting blaster shots, the next you’re using Force Push to move platforms around. It’s not super deep, but it nails that Jedi fantasy better than you’d expect for a handheld game from this era.
Also, the music? All those familiar Star Wars themes somehow squeezed into the GBA’s tinny speaker. It shouldn’t work as well as it does. If you’ve got a soft spot for early 2000s handheld games or just want to swing a lightsaber on the bus, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t expect it to rewrite the Jedi rulebook.
