Star Wars: The New Droid Army on GBA is one of those weird little action-RPG hybrids where you play as Anakin slicing through battle droids—except, surprise, some of them suddenly don’t die when you hit them with a lightsaber. That’s the whole hook: you’re running around figuring out why the Separatists built these tanky bots while hacking through waves of the usual clankers.
Combat’s simple but satisfying—button-mashy combos at first, but you unlock force powers and better moves as you go. The levels are pretty straightforward, though some of the platforming bits feel janky (classic GBA). The pixel art’s decent for the hardware, and the music nails that Star Wars vibe. Not a deep story, but hey, it’s Anakin being Anakin: reckless, a little whiny, and really good at wrecking droids.
If you’re into mid-tier Star Wars games or just want to swing a lightsaber on the go, it’s a fun enough time-waster.
