About Sonic 3 & Rainbow Dash
Sonic 3 & Rainbow Dash is a Sega Genesis game, a fan modification that reworks the original Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It was released unofficially, so it doesn't have a traditional developer or publisher in the commercial sense. This kind of project was part of a wave of creative, user-made content that emerged long after the Genesis's prime, giving an old platform new life.
You control Sonic, now joined by My Little Pony's Rainbow Dash, through fast-paced side-scrolling stages. The main goal is to race through each level, defeat Dr. Robotnik's machines, and collect the Chaos Emeralds. Signature mechanics include the character-specific abilities; Sonic can curl into a spin dash to plow through enemies, while Rainbow Dash can fly for short bursts to reach higher platforms. The game retains the loop of navigating multi-path zones, bouncing off springs, and managing your ring count to survive hits.
