So, Sonic 2 Delta II—it's basically a souped-up version of the classic Sonic 2, but with some wild tweaks. You still blast through Green Hill Zone at breakneck speed, but now there are extra paths, hidden areas, and even some new moves that make the old levels feel fresh. The physics are a little different too—Sonic slides a bit more, and the spin dash feels snappier.

First time I played it, I accidentally found a secret route in Chemical Plant Zone I’d never seen before. The emerald hunt’s still there, but some of the special stages are remixed. If you’ve played the original to death, this is the kind of hack that makes you go, "Wait, how did I not know about this?"

Runs smooth on Genesis/Mega Drive, though you’ll need a ROM patch if you’re emulating. Definitely one of the better Sonic mods out there.
