Sonic 2 Advanced Edit (beta 2) Game

So, Sonic 2 Advanced Edit is basically a hacked version of the classic Sonic 2 where someone went wild with the level editor. You still get that sweet Genesis-era speed and physics, but now the zones are remixed—some layouts feel familiar, others throw you for a loop with weird alternate paths or surprise enemy placements. The beta 2 tag means it’s a little rough around the edges (expect the occasional janky sprite or odd collision), but that’s half the fun if you’re into ROM hacks.
First thing you’ll notice? Emerald Hill Zone looks… different. Like someone shuffled the loops and added a few too many springs in places they shouldn’t be. It’s chaotic, but in a way that makes you laugh when you accidentally launch into a pit. If you’ve played vanilla Sonic 2 to death, this at least keeps your reflexes honest.
Definitely one for the "I’ve 100%’d the original and need something new" crowd.
