The game is set in the 22nd century, where the player assumes the role of a recent graduate who has earned the opportunity to live in SkyCity, an aerial platform designed to alleviate overcrowding in cities below.

Presented from a first-person perspective, the player must secure an apprenticeship within a three-month period to avoid being sent back to the surface. Progression involves exploring various locations within the city using a teleporter, including bars, shops, and a career counseling office. Through interactions with non-player characters, the player can gather tips about job opportunities and city services. To support themselves financially, the player can undertake temporary jobs, which are presented as mini-games such as sorting items by appearance.

The core gameplay systems revolve around career preparation and application. Players can visit a training center to improve their skills and undergo a counseling session that uses multiple-choice questions to suggest suitable professions. After creating a resume, they contact companies and participate in job interviews that assess their qualifications. Successful interviews lead to an aptitude test consisting of fourteen exercises covering general education, logical thinking, and mathematics. Passing this test results in obtaining the apprenticeship, though the game continues beyond this achievement.
