Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe is a combat flight simulator released in 1991 for MS-DOS. Developed and published by Lucasfilm Games, the game is set during World War II between 1943 and 1945. It offers a first-person perspective and allows players to pilot aircraft from both the American and German air forces, with a particular focus on historical and experimental German designs.

Players control a pilot and can choose from a range of period aircraft. On the German side, this includes traditional piston-engine fighters like the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Focke-Wulf Fw 190, as well as experimental types such as the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet, the Me 163 Komet rocket plane, and the Gotha flying wing. American options include fighters like the P-51 Mustang and P-47 Thunderbolt, and the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber. In the B-17, control extends beyond flying to operating gun turrets and the bombing sight. Progression is structured through several modes. Training missions are available for each aircraft, alongside historical missions that recreate specific air engagements. A Tour of Duty mode tasks players with completing a series of missions to earn promotions and medals, with the primary objective being survival.

The game also features a strategic campaign mode where players manage the broader war effort for either side. As the Americans, the goal is to conduct a strategic bombing campaign to damage German industry. As the Germans, the objective is to protect industrial capacity and survive the Allied onslaught. This mode incorporates a research and development system; for example, German jet and rocket aircraft must be researched before production, and players can also build V1 and V2 missiles. Industrial management includes options to allocate resources secretly to disrupt enemy bombing. Additional features include a mission editor for creating custom scenarios and a film playback function for reviewing flights.
