Secret Agent is a side-scrolling platform game released in 1990 for MS-DOS. Developed and published by Apogee Software, Ltd., the game is set in a spy and espionage theme. Players control Agent 006, tasked with stopping a terrorist organization.

The player guides Agent 006 through a series of levels across several islands. The primary objective in each stage is to locate and destroy a radar dish and then find a bundle of dynamite to blast open the exit. Progression involves completing fifteen standard levels to unlock a final sixteenth stage known as the main fortress. The core gameplay combines platform navigation with shooting, using a rifle to eliminate most enemy henchmen and robots. Players must also avoid environmental hazards like spikes, laser beams, and acid pools, with some lasers requiring the player to find and deliver a floppy disk to a computer terminal to deactivate them.

Throughout the levels, players can collect various items, including ammunition for the rifle and bonus objects that increase the score, such as bags of money and briefcases. A specific challenge involves finding the letters S, P, and Y in the correct order for a large point bonus. The player can also discover power-ups, which have varied effects, such as speed boots, goggles that reveal hidden platforms, and items that increase shot firing rate. Other power-ups can temporarily hinder the player by reversing movement controls or slowing down the character. The player character has three health points, with some hazards causing instant death, though the game provides unlimited lives. Interactive elements like pushable barrels can be used to reach higher areas, provided they are not lost in unreachable pits.
