About Scorcher
Scorcher is a racing video game released in 1996 for the MS-DOS platform. Developed by Zyrinx and published by Scavenger, Inc., it is a futuristic driving game presented from a first-person perspective. The game is set in stark, industrial environments that suggest a post-war landscape.
Players control the pilot of a spherical vehicle, competing directly against a small number of opposing racers on each track. The primary objective is to complete circuits ahead of all competitors. Progression is structured through a series of individual races. A key gameplay system involves collecting triangular icons scattered along the track, which provide temporary speed boosts. The racing experience is focused on high-velocity navigation through the game's defined courses, with the graphics engine supporting display resolutions up to 640 by 480 pixels.
