Sam and Max Hit the Road is a point and click adventure game released in 1993 for MS-DOS. Developed and published by LucasArts, it is a comedy detective title featuring the characters Sam, a dog, and Max, a rabbit, who work as freelance police. The story follows their investigation into the disappearance of Bruno the Bigfoot from a circus, a case that leads them on a road trip across various unusual American landmarks.

Players control Sam directly, with Max following along and also being usable as an inventory item. The core gameplay involves navigating scenes, examining objects, and engaging in conversations to gather clues.
