Ring The Ring (sonic 1 Hack) Game

Ever played a Sonic 1 ROM hack that actually feels like it could've been a lost official level? Ring the Ring is one of those. It takes the classic Green Hill Zone vibes but cranks up the ring-collecting chaos—like someone at Sega thought, "What if Sonic, but more rings?"
You start off with the usual loop-de-loops and palm trees, but suddenly there are rings everywhere—floating in patterns, stacked in columns, even hidden behind breakable walls. At first it feels excessive, but then you realize the whole level’s built around them, almost like a puzzle. Miss a jump? No sweat, there’s probably another ring cluster two feet away.
It’s short, but weirdly satisfying to blast through. Feels like the dev took Sonic’s core "gotta go fast" and just... leaned into the joy of collecting stuff without overcomplicating it. If you’ve got five minutes and a Genesis emulator, give it a spin.
