About Redneck Rampage: Suckin’ Grits On Route 66
Redneck Rampage: Suckin’ Grits on Route 66 is a first person shooter expansion released in 1998 for MS-DOS. Developed by Sunstorm Interactive and published by Interplay Entertainment, this add-on requires the original Redneck Rampage game to play. It continues the adventures of the protagonists Bubba and Leonard across twelve new levels.
Players control either Bubba or Leonard from a first person perspective, navigating through a series of themed environments. The objectives involve progressing through levels such as a gator farm, a brothel, and an Alien Oddity Museum, defeating hostile characters and creatures encountered along the way. Gameplay is structured around locating keys to unlock doors and finding exits to advance, while managing health and ammunition. Core systems include real time combat using a variety of exaggerated weapons, exploration of detailed, interactive settings, and solving simple environmental puzzles to proceed.
The expansion maintains the core mechanics of the original game, focusing on fast paced action and humorous, setting specific challenges. Progression is linear, with players clearing one level before moving to the next. The experience is built around the shooter genre fundamentals of movement, combat, and resource gathering within a distinctively themed campaign.
