About Quarantine
Quarantine is a first-person shooter video game released in 1994 for the MS-DOS platform. Developed by Imagexcel and published by GameTek, Inc., the game is set within a cyberpunk and dark science fiction genre, with its core gameplay centered around operating a vehicle.
Players assume the role of a taxi driver attempting to escape a dangerous, quarantined metropolis known as Kemo. The primary objective involves transporting passengers to various destinations across the city to earn currency. This income is used to purchase upgrades and repairs for the taxi cab, which is essential for progression. The game integrates driving mechanics with combat, as the cab is equipped with an array of mounted weapons used to defend against hostile elements encountered on the streets. Beyond standard fares, players can also undertake specific undercover missions, which form a key part of the narrative structure and the driver's goal of finding an exit from the city.
