About Quadrax
Quadrax is a puzzle platformer released in 1996 for MS-DOS. Developed by Cauldron Ltd. and published by Riki Computer Games, the game presents its challenges from a side view perspective. Players navigate through a series of logical levels with the objective of guiding two characters to specific exit points.
The player controls two distinct characters simultaneously, moving them through environments densely packed with obstacles. Progression is structured level by level, with the core challenge being to maneuver both figures to their designated goals. The primary gameplay systems involve manipulating the environment to create pathways, such as flipping switches, shifting stone blocks, activating doors, and operating lifts. The characters must often work in concert, with the actions of one enabling the progress of the other through the interconnected puzzles.
Levels increase in complexity, introducing new environmental elements and requiring more intricate sequences of actions. The game contains one hundred levels, which expand upon the core mechanics with variations in layout and puzzle design. Success depends on planning the coordinated movements of both characters and understanding the cause and effect of interacting with the various objects within each confined space.
