Pipe Dream is a real-time falling block puzzle game released in 1989 for MS-DOS. It was developed by The Assembly Line and published by Empire Software. The game presents an abstract, side-view puzzle environment where players must construct pipe networks.

The player controls the placement of various pipe pieces to create a continuous path for a substance called flooz. Before the flooz begins flowing from a random starting point, the player has a brief period to place pieces anywhere on a grid. The objective is to build a network that allows the flooz to pass through as many pipe segments as possible before it encounters a gap or an incompatible connection. The game uses seven types of pipe pieces, including straight horizontal and vertical segments, four-way corner pieces, and crossover pieces that allow perpendicular flows. Progression occurs through a series of levels, with players managing the random order of piece delivery under time pressure.

Gameplay systems involve strategic placement and occasional piece replacement, the latter incurring a scoring penalty. Players can earn bonuses by creating loops that pass flooz through both sides of multiple crossover pieces or by routing the flooz through every grid square. Later levels introduce additional complexity with pre-blocked squares and gaps in the side walls that allow the flooz to wrap to the opposite side of the screen. After every four standard levels, a bonus round is played for points, which restricts piece placement to the lowest open space in each column, resembling the mechanics of the board game Connect Four.
