About Pako
Pako is a top-down action game released in 1994 for the MS-DOS platform. It was developed and published by Uranium Software. The game presents a single-player experience where the player controls a yellow character named Pako, who navigates through a series of enclosed maze-like levels.
The player directs Pako through one hundred distinct levels, with the primary objective of consuming all the eggs present in each stage. Progression is structured as a sequence of tests; successfully clearing a level allows the player to advance to the next. The core gameplay involves maze navigation and evasion, as various types of hostile space pests patrol the arenas. Contact with these enemies ends the current attempt. To aid the player, an assortment of bonus food items appears throughout the levels, which can be collected for points.
The game's structure is linear, with the player needing to complete each level in order. The challenge increases as new enemy types are introduced, with sixteen varieties of space pest featured across the full set of stages. The stated narrative context frames the experience as a testing program for the character, where success across all one hundred tests leads to a conclusion.
